Once more, StumbleUpon’s photo archive boasts a beautifully evocative photograph of a single, restful bird in a tree as night befalls an unknown location. One might think of Edgar Alan Poe’s “The Raven” or an eerie English castle next to a tree calling for both night to fall and morning to rise. But no matter what thoughts may come to mind, there is a peaceful mystery - spiritual, ethereal, unknown and very joyous in this shot. The light hits only what is needed to provoke the viewer to look into a dark piece of nature garnished by moonlight. The bird and the tree are in near-full shadow and yet say so much with less - brilliance in darkness!
