Well Ladies and Gentlemen, as of November 4, 2008 Barack Obama has broken the 232 year-old color barrier of the American Presidency by becoming the nation’s first African American President 40 years removed from Dr. Martin Luther King’s I Have a Dream Speech in August 1968; and while the proverbial color lines have indeed been erased, Obama’s victory has left some quite literal lines of color across many corners of the world.

The Obama Art Report blog has documented the President-elect’s rise by featuring some of the more prominent pieces which have likely contributed to his near-landslide electoral victory and a rare six-point win in the popular vote. And until next time… keep hope alive on the Outskirts!
