Reviews: Wired City Pilot Episode
Today, the Outskirts takes a detour over to the New York Television Festival to find Paul - a struggling screenwriter trying arduously to find his voice in a city that never shuts up. Couple that with the fact that his girlfriend’s affections are a bit less than obvious and he agent’s intentions a bit more than two faced. The viewer wonders what will become of Paul as he is joined by his friend Jeremy, a former child actor turned overnight Internet millionaire and general slacker slug and Greg, a maladjusted newlywed. As both friends pull Paul in their own directions, Paul sets out on a quest to solve the riddle of why in a city of bluetooth gadgets, ipods, instant messages and PDAs - a world where everyone is connected… no one seems to be connecting at all.

Wired City is smart, funny and generally realistic in the way it portrays the everyday problems of a young person in a city that never stops moving! The acting is natural, the shots are well-placed and used conservatively to tell the right story and the plots are well written and decently paced. We have a winner!
Two thumbs up from the Outskirts!
