Gallery Showcase: Quikijiki Maiquez 2008 Selections
Today’s showcase features the Philippines’ native son graphic designer and general web design guru Quikijiki Maiquez. “Quiccs” employs standard vector layering and collage digital pasting techniques in the majority of his works.
Artist’s Comments:
My attempt into developing a stroking technique that involves automated strokes on individual vector shapes, trying to replicate money and old-fashioned print.
Artist’s Comments:
This took me three working days to make, after a bazillion of layers worth of vector shapes. I used Photoshop’s pen tool exclusively, I personally don’t like how Illustrator handles blend effects. The vector shapes and generally on the 60-70% opacity levels with various blend modes on each of them, but my personal favorites are hard light and overlay.
Artist’s Comments:
Mural Design I made on behalf of my one and only crew, Burnwater Design Studios, for the gadget store Mobile 1 (Park Square 1 Makati). BG inspired by some works of Matt Moore.
Artist’s Comments:
Macross Frontier is just too good to pass for fan art. So here you go, Macross Frontier goodness featruring Alto Saotome’s VF-25F, peeking below at Ranka Lee. Took me around 600 layers of vector shapes in CS3, plus a couple of gradients and effects for finishing touches.
