Upon reflecting last night (as well as over the past month so) on both
my financial progress with my blogs and the economic
strain the writing world seems to be under with either a general lack
of work or work for minimal pay, starting today, I’m putting my blogs
at both Today.com and Content Quake on hiatus to help myself focus on
pursuing a livable wage as a freelancer. I’ll still write blogs, but I’m going to take some time off first to jump-start my finances a bit.
Thanks to all the friends I’ve made here! I have much love and respect for all of you! I’ll be primarily focusing magazines and larger-paying gigs. But I will be writing. I’m currently a Roman Catholic NY beat reporter/ op-ed writer for Examiner.com. Please support me there if interested at the link here. I wish you all the best in wherever life takes you.
This PBS Nova presentation takes the viewer into the intriguing idea that Greece’s Parthenon was built to minimize the brain’s tendency toward optical illusions and stand as a rock among pebbles.
Secrets of the Parthenon is a Providence Pictures production for Nova and WGBH Boston in association with Studio International and ARTE France. Funding for Nova is provided by David H. Koch, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and public television viewers. Additional funding for Secrets of the Parthenon is provided by The Solow Art and Architecture Foundation.

What do 50 artists from 25 counties aged 33 and under have in common? They are mostly Younger than Jesus. The quirky idea is one of the most dynamic of its kind with each artist having a distinct mission apart from any stylistic theme. The exhibition is currently running through June 14.

This title implies what it says to a horribly accurate measure as a young man finds himself in a hit and run with police in a world that appears to be inhabited by still, lifeless and seemingly quite ghostly manikins.

North Carolina’s Bobby Neel Adam’s “agemaps” are a hairbrained hybrid of two photographs of one person’s young and aged likenesses meshed together to make art collage in the simplest terms in what he calls “photo-surgery.” Other collections include studies in family, couples and historic structures.
All rights to the photos are retained by Mr. Adams and related parties.
Produced at the University of Hertfordshire by John Godwin and Stephen Payne, This computer animated digital short is a prehistoric prelude to the rock of ages! Enjoy “A Tale of Rock.”
